The event itself
Given today’s challenging economic conditions, many are becoming aware of the changing environment for Housing Associations and the many innovative responses being developed within this sector. The faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment (TEE) are keen to see whether there are ways they could work with organisations more effectively to provide resource, either through student projects and collaborations, as well as specialist research within the MSc and PhD students or perhaps through business and professional development and other learning opportunities.
TEE would like to invite you to join them for a presentation and discussion about the set of challenges facing the sector around sustainable development and retrofit.
Guest speakers include:
- Dr Lubo Jankovic, Birmingham School of Architecture whose leading work on zero carbon retrofit is internationally respected following the publication of his major book in the field
- Glenn Howells, Glenn Howells Architects who has recently completed his high profile collaboration working with Kevin McCloud to design and build The Triangle in Swindon.
- Nathan Cornish, Urban Splash who has seen the re-fit of Fort Dunlop on the M6 and the Rotunda in Birmingham and who is now masterminding the Grade I Listed Royal William Yard in Plymouth
