1. Dr Kieron Doick, Forest Research, The role of trees and greenspaces in mitigating urban heat islands
Kieron is the Head of the Urban Forest Research Group. His role involves conducting research on the urban forest, urban greenspace and land regeneration to forestry, and working with Forestry Commission and external partners in regeneration programmes. Kieron received a 1st class honours in Environmental Science with Chemistry at the University of Plymouth in 2000 before moving to Lancaster University to undertake an MRes and PhD in 2005. He joined Forest Research in June, 2005. Kieron has published numerous research notes and academic publications. Kieron will be talking about the role of trees and greenspaces in mitigating urban heat islands. For a research Forest Research Note in this area see:
