The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country The Event The role of business in Nature’s Recovery The natural world is in crisis: recent analysis in the State of Nature 2019 report shows that one in seven UK species are at risk of extinction. 80% of city dwellers don’t think they spend enough time in nature and this affects our wellbeing. The Wildlife Trusts are developing Nature Recovery Networks; making space for nature to benefit people and wildlife.  Our vision is for Birmingham and the Black Country to have more wildlife, more wild places and more people with a strong connection to the natural world. Businesses play an important role in this mission, from new developments creating space for nature, sourcing sustainable resources or reducing carbon emissions. Find out what role your business can play in nature’s recovery and hear about our partnership project Salmon in the Stour; working to improve the River Stour and its tributaries for wildlife and people.
