You are cordially invited to the ‘Upskilling the domestic retrofit workforce’ webinar. The organisers would like to take this opportunity to inform you about grant funded training courses that will be delivered as part of the Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition. Training opportunities will be provided within the following retrofit skill sector fields:
- Insulation
- Heat Pumps
- Retrofit Assessment and Coordination
About the scheme
The Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition (HDSTC) is a £9.2m scheme to provide grant awards to a range of training organisations in England who will offer appropriate training and support to installers operating across the different Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) retrofit schemes.
Supporting the supply chain in this way will also help build capacity and resilience for homes energy retrofit delivery more widely and scale up delivery further as Government works towards meeting its 2030 and 2050 decarbonisation targets.
About the webinar
Midlands Net Zero Hub (MNZH), along with BEIS, have organised an event to introduce this exciting, new opportunity. They will detail how the scheme can assist you to upskill in the homes retrofit sector, which will enable the appropriate support to current and future BEIS-funded schemes.
The event will include presentations by:
- MNZH – who have responsibility for delivering the Homes Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition alongside BEIS-funded retrofit schemes
- BEIS – who will introduce current and future schemes and explain how this training assists delivery
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) – who will provide insight into how the scheme will offer opportunities to upskill unemployed people or those who are new to the industry
