University train station is a 15-minute walk, with a high-frequency service direct to Birmingham New Street. The 98 bus stops right outside. It picks up from the city centre by New Street Station. Electric vehicle charging is available.From Birmingham city centre, it’s a 2-mile drive to the hotel, which should take around 11 minutes. Parking is available at the venue or alternatively at the multi-storey car park accessed via Pritchatts Road, just around the corner.

#SWMVision2030
Ten years ago, SWM set its
Roadmap and Vision for 2020. We have worked with our stakeholders to try and create a better region and remain the only organisation that
monitors regional progress on sustainability.
We now need to step up our efforts even further. We are in a climate emergency and we know that our role of supporting leaders, policymakers and practitioners across the region is becoming more and more important. This is why we have developed our brand new Roadmap and Vision which sets out how we want the region to look in 2030. This next ten years are more crucial than ever.
How do you want the future of the West Midlands to look?
Vision 2030, our Annual Conference, will mark the launch of our new Roadmap and Vision and provide opportunities for you to be at the forefront of its successful implementation. Our Roadmap will act as a framework for all organisations in the West Midlands to collaborate, innovate, celebrate success and demonstrate leadership around sustainability to ensure that we can create the positive change that we need over the next ten years.
At Vision 2030, you will:
- An overview of SWM and the region’s sustainability achievements over the past ten years.
- Hear from leaders and advocates for each of our new Roadmap themes: Resource Efficiency (Wrap), Sustainable Growth (WMCA), Clean & Active Travel (Cenex), Social Equity & Health, Clean Air & Water (WM-Air), Sustainable Energy Use (Energy Capital), Natural Environment (Black Country & Birmingham Wildlife Trust) and Adapting to Climate Change (Climate Change Committee).
- Be able to explore these themes and outline how your organisation and projects will contribute to each theme and their associated targets
- Hear the perspective of a high-profile panel containing leaders from across the region – how will they help us to implement the ambitions of this Roadmap?
