The event itself

Stellan Fryxell a partner of Tenborn Architects in Stockholm is visiting Birmingham and will be discussing ‘Hammerby Sjostad’, the extension of Stockholm’s inner city across Hammerby Lake. This inspiring project has turned an old industrial and harbour area into a modern, low carbon neighbourhood which will house 25,000 people on completion. Dr Simon Slater will introduce this presentation and a response will be given by Mark Middleton, Director of Policy, West Midlands Regional Assembly followed by an audience discussion.

This is the first in our new series of ‘Voices from the future 2020’  series which develop themes from ‘a low carbon vision for the West Midlands in 2020.’ The intention is to stimulate thinking amongst decision makers in the region of the positive future we can have, and how to get there.
