The event

Join EnTRESS in the Wolverhampton School of Art for a morning of talks and exhibitions on sustainable textile industry.

Over the past year there has been a growing public concern about the detrimental effect the textile industry is having on our planet. The industry has become a hot topic in recent months as can be seen form the number of news articles and documentaries being released. Wraps most recent update, in March 2019, estimates that 300 000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill every year.

At this FREE workshop you will hear from industry speakers and academics from the University of Wolverhampton. Our speakers will look into sustainable fashion, waste fabric, waste water and the chemicals that are produced at nearly every stage of manufacture. We will investigate how industries in and around the Black Country can and are already helping to combat these issues.
