The event
The West Midlands economy is growing and needs efficient, clean and decentralised energy systems in order to reduce emissions and to retain more of the £3 billion currently spent each year on importing energy. Climate-KIC UK & Ireland, Encraft and Birmingham City Council are asking for organisations with products, services or wider concepts that can be put to work for the region to apply to participate in the West Midlands Climate Innovation Challenge. Participants will work together on the day to come up with innovative solutions to the energy and climate change challenges. The two winning solutions will be awarded the chance to work as part of the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) ‘Energy Capital’ programme, along with a cash prize of £20,000 each.
