The West Midlands is leading the green revolution by committing to become a net zero carbon economy by 2041, and the local business community has a key role to play. This event will explore how the Net Zero Business Pledge can help local SMEs through the transition. The online event will take place on 30 June from 12:00 – 13:30.
The commitment to remove more carbon than is put into the economy 9 years before national government targets is ambitious, and will require collaboration from all corners of business, society, the economy and finance community. The role of SMEs in driving the net zero transition is unavoidable; organisations who fail to adapt their business models, or incorporate climate risk into their business plans, risk lagging behind their competitors, and more importantly, missing out on business opportunities.
The Net Zero pledge has been developed by the West Midlands Combined Authority to help SMEs work towards becoming net zero businesses, and demonstrate to their customers, and the wider business community, that they are committed to the low carbon economy. This webinar brings together key local representatives to discuss the net zero movement, how businesses can join the pledge, and the support available in doing so.
