The Event
Register now for our next pledge drop-in, with speakers and a workshop to reflect on your work so far and to plan ahead. This session will include a chance to update your Pledge profile with our support, something which we will be asking all pledged businesses to do in the coming weeks.
Agenda:
- 09:30: Introduction and updates from Sustainability West Midlands (SWM).
- 09:35: Hannah Smith, Arup – case study discussing their decarbonisation and how sustainability has been incorporated into their new offices.
- 09:50: Jessica Wilkes-Ball, Mills & Reeve – case study of their work and aspirations around net zero within the current landscape.
- 10:00: Arup – once we have heard from all the speakers, we will have a tour of Arup’s offices!
- 10:30: Questions for the speakers.
- 10:35: Workshop – each business in attendance will have a chance to share something they have achieved in the past year and something they hope to achieve going forward. We will then have some time for all pledged businesses to update their profiles on the Pledge website ahead of an annual review of these profiles happening soon. We encourage businesses to discuss and support each other in this and Sustainability West Midlands and the West Midlands Combined Authority will also be on hand.
- 11:00: End of event.
Not sure what to expect from a drop-in? See our post on our first in person event for the pledge here.
Bring a ‘buddy’!
In an effort to increase the reach of the pledge and therefore the connections brought to you all as pledged businesses, this drop-in will be open to any organisation who is genuinely interested in signing up.
We therefore ask that, as a pledged business, you invite some other organisations you are connected with to come along. This can be one of your clients, from your supply chain, a partner, or potential partners! We hope this provides you the opportunity to connect with this organisation more and help encourage them on their own net zero journey in a productive way. Please remember that the organisation can be any sector or size, but must be based in one of the Local Authority areas on this page.
Have any ideas of topics you would like covered in these sessions, or interested in speaking at or hosting a drop-in? Please contact morgan.roberts@swm.org.uk for a discussion!
