The event

This workshop is for members of our WM Green Communities Network and will focus on community energy (CE).  This is a hugely important agenda for local communities at present, as generating their own energy can ensure security of supply, reduce energy bills, instil community empowerment and reduce carbon emissions.  This workshop will provide members with the opportunity to hear about local, good practice community energy schemes, the latest funding opportunities, support available and a chance to air concerns and share challenges to implementing successful projects. The aims of the workshop are as follows:

  • Learn from good practice local community energy schemes, including their successes and challenges.
  • Learn more about the legalities of such schemes and what you need to do, and to obtain details on current funding opportunities relating to community energy.
  • Be able to ask questions of experts in this field to further your understanding on how to develop a scheme

An agenda is available here.
