The event
This event is open to Green Communities across the West Midlands will mark the launch of the new WM Green Communities Network. The aims of this network are as follows:
- Sharing good practice by helping green communities share and promote good practice on topics such as green space, resilience to extreme weather events, energy and other themes relating to our 2020 roadmap.
- Levering in support from funders and SWM members by signposting to a growing network of green communities to partner with on local action around the sustainability priorities in our 2020 roadmap, such as energy and green space projects.
- Mainstreaming the pioneering practice and lessons from green communities into other community organisations, funding and programmes so that this becomes standard practice for all those that work and support communities.
The launch event will provide some good practice examples of community projects relating to energy, green spaces and resilience and provide an opportunity for attendees to network and provide input into the Network’s forthcoming programme and focus. We are also pleased to be launching this Network within Community Energy Fortnight. Click here for an agenda.
