Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Scheme open for applications until 01 Sept

As part of the £2 billion Green Homes Grant Scheme announced by the Chancellor on 08 July to help fund energy efficient upgrades to households across England, £500 million has been earmarked specifically for delivery through a Local Authority Delivery (LAD) Scheme which opened on 04 August. Under this competition, Local Authorities across England can bid for funding to improve the energy efficiency of low income, fuel poor households in their local area. This will help reduce fuel poverty and support the installation of low carbon heating. The LAD scheme aims to raise the energy efficiency of low energy performance homes (those rated at EPC Band E, F or G), including off-gas grid homes. The initial phase of the scheme provides £200 million funding for local authorities to upscale existing energy efficiency improvement projects. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 on 01 September 2020. Funding will be allocated to successful projects by the end of September 2020 and projects must be completed by 31 March 2021. A further £300 million will be available in the second phase of the scheme later in 2020 for Local Energy Hubs in England to procure services that support upgrading eligible homes. More guidance on phase 2 will be provided ahead of its launch. You can find competition guidance, application form and draft Memorandum of Understanding on GOV.UK. If you have questions about the process, application form or guidance, please contact LAD.Project@beis.gov.uk.
