Innovate:Create is seeking bold ideas to innovate across digital technology and creative content. Over the next six months challenge briefs will be opened (including those related to Net Zero and sustainability) inviting limited companies based in the West Midlands to apply for funding and support to produce innovative pilot projects in collaboration with a range of industry partners.
For the first challenge, Innovate:Create is offering the opportunity to win a support package and one of two £50k grants to produce innovative projects in collaboration with the Birmingham 2022 Festival as part of the Commonwealth Games. The subsequent briefs will be opened in collaboration with a variety of organisations covering sectors including technology and transport, and many of these will have a Net Zero and sustainability focuses – watch this space. To apply to the Birmingham 2022 Festival challenge, a lead applicant must write a topline idea in response to one of the open briefs and provide links to existing work and experience. Each winning team must be made up of a lead applicant and a collaborative partner (also a limited company based in the region) which can be confirmed during the shortlisting process. Successful teams will be awarded £50k total grant funding and a package of mentoring support. SWM is a partner in the project and we will be helping to promote other challenges in the next couple of months. The deadline to submit your application against this first challenge is 5 November.
