Acocks Greener is a new community association for the wards of Acocks Green and Tyseley & Hay Mills in Birmingham.
Their mission is to help people and businesses to prepare for global warming. They intend to be the example for the rest of Birmingham, showing what can be done and how we can do it:
- Insulating our homes and other buildings
- Reducing our carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions
- Making our lives more comfortable and healthier
- Raising understanding and empowering people to change
- Working with others to mobilise resources
On their membership with SWM, they say:
“We want to work with others: NGOs, schools, universities, the health service, local and national government, enterprises etc – within Birmingham and the West Midlands, but also across UK, Europe and beyond. We want to do joint projects, bring in the resources that we need and disseminate the findings for others to share.”
