BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Council)

Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) is passionate about making a positive difference to Birmingham’s people and places. They believe that the key to this is found in their 5000 Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCSFE) organisations creating change in the City. BVSC supports these organisations.

  • social enterprises

BVSC offers wide-ranging support to VCSFE organisations including on:

  • Finance & Funding
  • Employment & Volunteering
  • Policy, Strategy & Research
  • Marketing & Communications

BVSC are change makers – continually evolving to respond to sector asks and the City’s needs and ambitions.

Throughout all, they work to Engage for Good – enabling the sector to voice and tackle challenges, work in cross-sector partnerships and take action for our communities.

On their membership with SWM, they say:

“We would like to be a member of SWM as we want to support the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector across Birmingham City, and the wider West Midlands, in moving towards a sustainable future, and believe that membership of SWM will support us with this.

“In particular, BVSC co-ordinates an Environment and Energy Network for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector which meets on a monthly basis.  This network is not just for the traditional environment and energy focussed organisations, but for the whole sector, as we believe everyone has a part to play in tackling sustainability issues. Further details of the Environment & Energy Network are available here: https://www.bvsc.org/environment-and-energy-network-resources  and meetings are advertised here: https://www.bvsc.org/Pages/Events/Category/events
