Climate Ed teaches Year 5 and 6 children about climate change and inspires them to take action.

Through their education programme, their aims are to:

  • Increase understanding among children of climate change and what can be done to mitigate it.
  • Inspire children and their families to take action to reduce their emissions.
  • Reduce climate anxiety among young people.
  • Improve dialogue and collaboration between adults and children about climate change.

The education programme consists of five one-hour workshops, combining drama, knowledge sharing, conversation and games. By the end of the programme children commit to taking some climate action in the family or community.

On their membership with SWM, they say:

“We are expanding our operations to Birmingham. We will be recruiting new staff members and looking for volunteers. We will be looking organisations to partner with to help us do this. We want to become an active member of the Birmingham green community.”

Our primary contact is Joshua Marchant, Programme Coordinator (Birmingham).
