Glamis Hall for All

Glamis Hall for Hall are a group of friends who came together in 2014 to save Glamis Hall and its services from closure. They became a registered charity in early 2015 to help provide services at Glamis Hall for the community.

Glamis Hall is a community centre on the Queensway Estate in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. It consists of a Day Centre for the over 50s, a large hall with a kitchen and servery, a community (meeting) room, and sports changing rooms.

On their membership with SWM, they say:

“We are co-leading the Wellingborough Climate Action Project in our town. We are also on our own climate action journey, this year creating our first ever Carbon Reduction and Sustainability Plan. We are determined to make our own in roads into taking climate action and supporting people, communities and local business to do the same.

“Our project is generating a great deal of interest locally however, we recognise our efforts need to be in partnership with others including local councils and business. Sustainability West Midlands offers a framework for collective action across the midlands which we believe will also be invaluable in our area. And the work of SWM’s many member organisations and networks also provide a model and many resources to help all stakeholders in our area take even greater action too.”

Our primary contact is Marion Turner-Hawes, Project Coordinator.
