The University has set targets to have net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, and net-zero Scope 3 emissions by 2050, with an understanding of the vital need for high-level commitment and collective action in order to meet these challenging, but crucial, ambitions. Staffordshire University offers Carbon Literacy Project-accredited training to all students and staff, and has developed an academic strategy for embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals across all teaching and research programmes, as part of its wider strategy to become a truly sustainable organisation, created by and for its people, future generations, and the community.

On their membership with SWM, they say:

“Staffordshire University realises the importance of collaboration, knowledge-sharing and being part of a larger movement, to the success of achieving net-zero and wider UN sustainability goals.”
