As part of this course, delegates will also receive a year of IEMA Practitioner membership.

At Wylde Connections, they ensure that delegates gain the most from the course. They will have access to additional support and a wealth of resources through their Business Knowledge Builder platform.

Once the programme and assessments have been successfully completed, you will receive a certificate and will be sent details of how to join IEMA as a Practitioner Member, including your PIEMA professional suffix and all other benefits that come as being a member of a professional body.

What is the IEMA?:

The IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management is an internationally recognised qualification aimed at environmental professionals.

It is respected for its rigorous standards and certification signifies a high level of expertise and a commitment to best practice.

Gaining IEMA Practitioner Membership (PIEMA) is a key milestone for those driving environmental standards, providing a framework to support current efforts and helping delegates maximise impacts on the triple bottom line.

The IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management programme equips environmental professionals with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to excel in their role and drive meaningful change.

Why choose IEMA?:

Having an IEMA-qualified individual within your organisation is a strategic asset, demonstrating to stakeholders your commitment to adopting more responsible practices and improving your sustainability credentials.

It provides the knowledge and expertise needed to progress on your journey to becoming a responsible and ethical business that puts the needs of people, profit and planet at the heart of its growth strategy.

What’s involved?:

This programme comprises three in-depth modules delivered over three weeks by expert tutors. The delivery methods are flexible to suit your requirements.

  • Unit 1: Fundamentals of sustainability, business and governance
  • Unit 2: Environmental principles, policy and legislation
  • Unit 3: Environmental management/assessment tools and skills
What are the entry requirements?:

You will need a foundation level of environmental and/or sustainability knowledge gained through work experience or a relevant course, such as the Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.

Who is this course for?:

The PIEMA course is aimed at companies who need members of their staff to have recognised qualifications to support their role as sustainability practitioners, or individuals working in an environmental management or sustainability related role to prepare for IEMA Practioner membership.

With sustainability being a topic that is high on the agenda for most companies, you will want to identify which members of your team would benefit from gaining this qualification and the positive impact this would have on your business.

Typically, this course is attended by Environmental Managers, Health and Safety Managers, HR Managers, and Quality Managers to complement their skills and enhance their job role.

How is the course assessed?:

The assessment for modules 1-3 of this course is through knowledge-based written assignments.

Delegates then need to complete an Assessment of Competence, which must be submitted to IEMA for marking after all other modules have been successfully completed. This demonstrates how the knowledge learnt has been practically applied within the workplace.

Once the assessment is successfully completed, you will receive a certificate and will be sent details of how to join IEMA as a Practitioner Member, including your PIEMA professional suffix and all other benefits that come as being a member of a professional body.
