In 2020 the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country will be celebrating 40 years since a group of pioneering conservationists started to form what became the first urban Wildlife Trust in the UK following their successful campaign to save Moseley Bog from development. Over the past 40 years they have gathered a massive collection of archive materials from press cuttings to magazines and we need support from enthusiastic volunteers to help them sort, organise and digitally catalogue this information. This volunteering opportunity will be based at our Centre of the Earth education centre which acts as their head office on any / all of the following dates between 10am and 4pm, however there may be opportunities to support this project remotely. Monday 15th July Tuesday 20th August Thursday 5th September Friday 20th September Wednesday 16th October Friday 25th October Tuesday 12th November Thursday 28th November Wednesday 11th December Thursday 19th December Volunteers will need to have good basic IT skills including data entry into Microsoft Excel, using a scanner and electronic data filing.
