Big Lottery launches call for 10 1m pilots to help communities become more sustainable and resilient
Could you help us learn how communities in England can live in a more sustainable way? If the answer is yes, your community could be one of 10 to receive up to £1million to work across the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to build a sustainable and resilient community that can develop inspirational ideas and share their learning with other communities across England. The Big Lottery are particularly keen to see vulnerable people benefitting by making greener choices that will help them reduce their costs and improve their quality of life. For more information go to the Big Lottery website or contact the Big Advice Line on 0845 4 10 20 30. Please note the closing date for the expression of interest stage is Tuesday 31 January 2012.
Sustainability West Midlands has been building on the experiences of the West Midlands community renewable programme and award winning community projects to advise on the development of the programme nationally, via Climate UK. We are developing project ideas with a range of private, public and voluntary sector partners to get a bid in that has focused action on the ground, but also strategic support to ensure wider impact and alignment of other investment. If you would like to registering your interest in being named in a expression of interest and what you could contribute, please email Laura.Simpson@swm.org.uk by 3rd January. If the bid is approved for further development we will contact you and confirm your potential role. This does not preclude you putting in your own bid. Let us maximise the benefit for all our communities.
