Birmingham County FA achieve King’s Award for Enterprise

Birmingham County FA has been honoured with the first-ever King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development!

Announced on Monday 06 May, Birmingham County FA have been recognised for excellence in Sustainable Development for their acclaimed Save Today, Play Tomorrow programme.

They are one of 252 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.

Kevin Shoemake, Chief Executive of Birmingham County FA, said: “We are thrilled to accept the King’s Award 2024 for Sustainable Development and have our Save Today, Play Tomorrow programme recognised by His Majesty the King”.

Richard Lindsay, Sustainability and Insights Manager, said: “We are truly honoured to receive the King’s Award 2024 for Sustainable Development from His Majesty the King. This recognition is a testament to the organisations commitment in supporting grassroots football make a positive impact on our planet and the local communities we serve. We will continue to strive for excellence in sustainability and drive positive change for a cleaner, greener game.”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses.

The Award programme is now in its 58th year and is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
