Birmingham Sustainability and Recycling Awards

The new Birmingham Sustainability & Recycling Awards were launched on 26 March 2014 by Michelin starred chef Glynn Purnell.  Birmingham City Council, in partnership with Veolia Environmental Services, are inviting schools, colleges, universities, businesses, restaurants and food outlets as well as community groups and members of the public to show how green they are and enter the awards. There are four main categories:

  • Best Waste and Recycling Scheme
  • Best Energy Reduction Scheme
  • Best Food and Growing Scheme
  • Best Staff and Community Scheme

Each category will then have a sub-category for Business, Education, Restaurants and Community Groups/individuals.  An overall winner will then be chosen who has completely embraced the ethos of the awards. Application forms and criteria can be downloaded from this web page. Closing date for entries is Friday 6 June 2014. The Awards ceremony will be held on Friday 18 July 2014 in the Banqueting Suite at the Council House.
