Business demand for renewable electricity drives strong growth at Bryt Energy
Birmingham-based renewable electricity supplier, Bryt Energy, was the fastest growing business electricity supplier in Great Britain in 2020, indicating that carbon reduction remains important for businesses, despite recent COVID challenges.
Bryt Energy – which was established in 2016 and is owned by Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy, Statkraft – saw impressive organic growth in electricity volume in 2020 compared to 2019. With business decarbonisation critical to meeting the UK’s goal to reach net zero emissions by 2050, organisations are increasingly choosing energy partners that can help them to meet their carbon reduction targets.
Ian Brothwell, Managing Director at Bryt Energy, comments:
“Making the switch to renewable electricity is now seen as the first step for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint, and Bryt Energy’s growth demonstrates the increasing demand for electricity from zero carbon, 100% natural sources such as solar, wind and hydro power. At a time when many businesses are facing increased pressure due to COVID-19, supporting their sustainability claims with credible action (such as making the switch to a renewable supply) demonstrates a clear commitment to a low carbon future”.
