Climate-KIC Pioneers came to the end of their eight-month journey with a celebration at Birmingham’s beautiful Botanical Gardens. Since joining the scheme in June, the Pioneers have been on two four-week placements with other businesses, institutions or projects, developed group projects of their own and travelled with us to our annual Innovation Festival in Valencia. So, to summarise, in 2014:
- 42 Pioneers took part (including 10 from our Outreach region in Ireland)…
- …and they undertook placements in the West Midlands and Europe;
- They worked on 5 group projects;
- 33 International Pioneers came to the West Midlands in September and October;
- Host organisations in the West Midlands offered 75 placements for our regional and international Pioneers;
The whole team at Climate-KIC West Midlands has been really charmed by how well our Pioneers got on, and are sure that the bonds they have made will endure as they continue on their low carbon journeys.
