SWM member, Coventry City Council, is once again to be congratulated for leading the way for UK cities by driving down carbon emissions, according to recently released figures by DECC. This equates to energy and tax savings for many organisations and the results are driven, not just by ongoing changes in the national economy, but through sustained and practical action by a compact, but determined city along with its partners. It is no coincidence that so many of our members are located in the area, or that the City Council has also recently won a national environmental management award. The challenge remains to keep the momentum and innovation going while helping other cities make similar progress.”
