Driverless cars coming to Coventry

Driverless cars and pedestrian pods are coming to Coventry in the New Year.  Coventry is one of four locations across the UK selected to take part in a series of trials which is part of the government’s £10m ‘Introducing Driverless Cars’ competition which was launched in the summer. Coventry will be working on a scheme – UK Autodrive – which will test driverless cars on the roads along with self-driving pods for pedestrianised areas. The UK Autodrive consortium is made up of 12 partners including Arup, Coventry City Council, Jaguar Land Rover, Coventry engineering firm RDM Group and Nuneaton-based MIRA. Find out more
