Dudley’s brand new award – Energy Heroes

If you are a local business, school, community group or household doing your bit to reduce your impact on climate change, we want to hear from you.

Dudley Climate Change Group is on the look out for the borough’s energy heroes with the launch of a brand new award.

Energy Heroes is aimed at everyone in the borough and recognises the achievements of local projects which are making a positive contribution to reducing carbon emissions and the local impact on climate change.

There are two categories of award, a community category which includes households, schools, voluntary and community groups and a business category which is open to all private sector businesses and not for profit organisations.

Judges will be looking for projects which have reduced energy or carbon emissions in the last 12 months and which can be used as examples for other people keen to make their own contribution to reducing the impact of climate change.

You can download a nomination form or apply online for the Energy Heroes award.

Everyone submitting an entry will receive recognition of their project, with winning entries receiving a special award.

The closing date for entries is 31 March 2010. Shortlisiting will take place in April/May with an awards ceremony later in the summer.

Energy Heroes is a project of the Dudley Climate Change Group. It is supported by Dudley Council, Dudley Community Partnership, the Environment Agency, Groundwork West Midlands, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, Business Link and Boss Design.
