Energy Research Accelerator recruiting Research & Business Development Executive

The Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) is a strategic collaboration that brings together seven core academic partners (the Universities of Aston, Birmingham, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Warwick and the British Geological Survey) and a large number of private sector collaborators.  This high-profile programme consists of an initial £60M capital investment from government over 5 years and £120M of co-investment drawn from a large number of industrial stakeholders.  A flagship project for the Midlands Innovation university partnership, successful delivery of the programme is critical.

ERA are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the Central Team as a Research & Business Development Executive (RBDE). This role is key in the development and delivery of the ERA strategy. The post-holder will support the effective implementation of a portfolio of collaborative initiatives, working closely with colleagues from across ERA institutions and industrial partners. They will be responsible for identifying new energy-related opportunities across the university partners and providing high-level support and coordination for bids to external funders. The RBDE will be expected to build an expert understanding of the energy capabilities within ERA and of the wider national and international energy context.

The role requires someone with exceptional professionalism, stakeholder management and communication skills. Organisational ability, strategic and creative thinking, analytical and demonstrable problem-solving skills will be core to this. The role holder will be expected to demonstrate the ability to work flexibly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in the energy field. It is noted that the role will involve significant travel across the partner sites in the Midlands.
