The Department for Environment, Food& Rural Affairs have recently published the England Trees Action Plan 2021 to 2024 in order to set out England’s long term goals for trees, woodlands and forests and the actions that will be taken by Parliament to achieve such goals. The events of the last year have caused people to appreciate the natural environment and the difference that nature makes to our lives in a new way, therefore it is vital that in order to ‘build back better’ we must also ‘build back greener’. The plan aims to highlight the government’s long term vision for England’s treescape by 2050 and beyond by providing a strategic framework for the implementation of the Nature and Climate Fund, outlining 80 policy actions that are being taken by Parliament in order to deliver this vision.
