Heatwave Plan for England 2015 Published

The Heatwave Plan for England was released on 20th May 2015. The Met Office will issue appropriate Heatwave Alerts from 1 June to 15 September 2015. The plan is a key component of emergency planning and is increasingly relevant in adapting to climate change. It provides advice for professionals, organisations, and individuals to enable them to plan for and respond to heatwaves. A copy of the plan and its associated supporting documents is available, accompanied by a cover letter from the Department of Health, Public Health England, NHS England and the Local Government Association. No significant changes have been made to the plan this year, apart from reflecting new NHS England structures. It will remain in place until further notice.
