Are you able to lead, inspire, plan and implement changes to existing management practices, establish new partnerships and work with proactive community groups to help further biodiversity ambitions?
Come and lead on developing a strategic approach for Worcester City Council to enhance biodiversity in all aspects of its work and operations.
The Council recognises the importance of the biodiversity emergency and its role in addressing this crisis. This job, placed within their Sustainability Team and working closely with colleagues in City Services, Planning and Community Engagement teams, will play a vital part in this, providing technical advice and guidance and helping to implement council priorities and projects.
Addressing the new challenges arising from the Environment Act 2021 and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) will be a key priority for this new role.
Who should apply?
- They are seeking someone with a passion for the natural environment and a background in ecology or conservation management.
- The right person will have experience of habitat creation and biodiversity enhancement as well as a good understanding of environmental legislation.
