Coventry City Council are currently looking for a Business Energy Advisor to join their Economic Development Team.

What is the job role?

Do you want to help small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Coventry and Warwickshire to reduce their carbon emissions?

Are you passionate about the environment and have knowledge of energy, water and waste efficiency?

Coventry City Council has secured funding to deliver the Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme, which supports businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire who want to save money on energy, waste and water bills and maximise low carbon opportunities

Within the role you would be a key member of the team, promoting and delivering the objectives and outputs of the Decarbonisation Net Zero agenda.

In this role, you would work directly with small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve their energy and resource efficiency.

The Business Energy Advisor will need to carry out energy and resource efficiency audits within SMEs to produce action plans, identifying potential energy saving measures which will be presented to the business. Following the audit, an offering of financial support through capital grants will be administered to assist the SMEs to deliver the recommendations.

Who are Coventry City Council looking for?

They are looking for someone who has sound knowledge of environmental issues, including climate change, sustainable energy use, carbon reduction and management – both locally and globally and their relationship with businesses/ the community.

You will also have experience in researching and interpreting complex relevant data, making recommendations where appropriate.

An experience of stakeholder engagement with both internal and external parties is also highly desirable.

You will have a high level of verbal and written communication skills and a proven record in consulting and negotiating to a high level.

The successful candidate will also be expected to represent the Decarbonisation Net Zero programme at external and promotional events as required.
