West Midlands Trains are currently advertising 2 full-time apprenticeship schemes to begin in March 2019. These are 18-month schemes based in Birmingham. Both roles would be 4 days per week working for WMT and then 1 day per week at Solihull college to gain a Level 3 Customer Specialist qualification by the end of the apprenticeship. The 2 roles are as follows: Community Development apprentice focusing on:
- Community rail projects across our network
- Meetings and events
- Neighbourhood and community planning
- Consultation and surveys
- Administration and project support
Integration and Inclusion apprentice focusing on:
- Access and inclusion issues across our rail network
- Helping our Stakeholder Equality Group
- Consultation events and surveys
- Station travel planning and access projects
- Equality and diversity projects
