Disability Arts in Shropshire (DASH) seeks a new Artistic Director/CEO to take on the artistic and strategic leadership of the organisation, as they continue their essential work to create space for Disabled / d/Deaf / Neurodivergent people in the visual arts.
This is a sector-leading role for Disability at the national level, focussed on excellence and supported through increased investment from Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation for 2023-26.
They are looking for inspiring and nurturing leadership, with the vision to help build a more radically accessible and inclusive sector.
This role is central to the organisation’s development, building upon DASH’s track record to support Disabled people in creative practice at all stages, from aspiring artists to sector leaders.
With an in-depth understanding of Disability arts and culture, the successful candidate(s) will be an active voice within prominent national and regional visual arts networks working to effect change.
The successful candidate(s) will have the confidence to question what Disability visual arts looks like today, creating powerful collaborations with artists and organisations to influence the future.
The Social Model of Disability is the foundation stone of DASH. As a Disabled-led organisation, they strongly encourage applications from those with direct or personal experience of Disability.
