Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Officer, who can support their small team and to lead the day-to-day management of financial processes.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Officer will oversee the day-to-day finances and support the charity to achieve its financial objectives.
You will be responsible for maintaining and assisting in improving the accuracy and quality of the charities financial processes, records, and reporting.
Working relationships
Internal: Board members; General Manager; co-workers; staff; volunteers
External: External accountant; funders and commissioners; bid writers; other professional advisers
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Member of an appropriate professional body – Association of Accounting Technicians.
- Excellent IT skills, including spreadsheets, word processing and email.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent organisation and planning skills Ability to prioritise with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to achieve multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Team-working skills, able to work in a flexible and adaptable way.
- Ability to work independently on occasion.
- A problem solver, with a forward thinking and committed approach.
Experience
Essential:
- Providing comprehensive bookkeeping support using QuickBooks, Xero or Sage.
- Preparing spreadsheet-based budgets.
- Managing financial records – paper and electronic records.
Knowledge
Essential:
- Excellent working knowledge of bookkeeping software.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including the use of formulae.
