Herefordshire Council are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual, with excellent organisational, project management and communication skills to help deliver and achieve the Council’s EV infrastructure ambitions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s Sustainability & Climate Change Team which has responsibility for carbon reduction, active travel initiatives, adaptation, and energy. If successful upon application, the main activities will include:

  • To line manage the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy Officer and enable EVI deployment in Herefordshire
  • To lead the delivery of the Council’s EV Strategy in conjunction with the Transport Planning team and as a part of the Local Transport Plan
  • Develop, coordinate, and lead inter-directorate projects and initiatives relating to the councils EV infrastructure projects and EV Strategy in conjunction with the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy Officer and Transport officers
  • To work in partnership with the Herefordshire Climate and Nature Partnership to support the uptake of electric vehicles countywide
  • To work with Council Officers to identify and encourage the provision of sustainable transport infrastructure improvements
  • To initiate and develop projects to assist with public transport, electric vehicle, and low carbon planning
  • To communicate effectively with local media, car clubs and the Herefordshire EV Drivers Group in order to promote the switch to electric vehicles in the county
  • Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, key strategic partners, senior managers, politicians, and other teams
  • Liaise with and work in partnership with various project partners, suppliers, and contractors
  • Keep up to date with technology, legislation, and best practice, and ensure that relevant initiatives are adopted to develop the effectiveness of the service
