Job Title: Programme Manager – Corporate Sustainability (Maternity Cover) – Worcestershire County Council
Salary: £36,226 – £39,253 per annum
35 Hours per week
Location: County Hall, Worcester & home working
Temporary – 12 month contract, full-time
The County Council’s Growth, Investment & Sustainability Team is seeking a highly motivated sustainability/environmental management professional with carbon reporting experience to continue the development and implementation of the council’s corporate sustainability programme, including the corporate Net Zero Carbon Plan. The post holder will support the work of the team in response to the county council’s Corporate Plan, which has ‘Protecting the Environment’ as one of its key priorities.
It is essential that you have a degree & post graduate qualification &/or experience in a relevant subject area, preferably in the field of environmental/carbon management. You will need to evidence that you have substantial experience with successful implementation of environmental &/or carbon management systems & professional knowledge of current environmental & carbon reporting obligations & national policies relevant to the council. You will also need to demonstrate that you have substantial data management, collation & reporting experience; a high level of project/programme management skills; ability to present & deliver training programmes to a wide variety of audiences; & a thorough understanding of the issues related to tackling climate change.
The post holder will be based at County Hall in Worcester at least 2 days a week, with opportunity to work from home under the council’s hybrid working system. The post operates on a flexi time basis.
