This post will report into the Group Manager for Climate Change and Sustainability and sit within the Sustainable Growth Service.
Climate Change and Sustainability are key priorities for Solihull Council, this is reflected in their Council Plan which identifies “Environment” as one of the core priorities for the Council, Solihull aims to be net zero as a Council by 2030 and as a Borough by 2041. Their ambitions are supported by strategy and policy such as their Climate Change Prospectus and Net Zero Action Plan, their commitment is demonstrated by the fact that Climate Emergency UK ranked Solihull’s climate action plans among the best in the country (5th overall and 2nd of all single tier authorities)
The role:

Leading the way to engage with residents, businesses, schools and other organisations. To support this, ideally you will have experience of delivering engagement and/ or behaviour change projects or programmes.
You will also play a key part in the refresh and delivery of Solihull’s Climate Change prospectus which sets out the actions the council is taking to work towards a becoming a more sustainable borough.
If you are an experienced climate change and sustainability professional and an excellent communicator, that is comfortable analysing complex information and confident in presenting your findings in a concise way to a wide variety of audiences, the Council would like to hear from you!
