Low Carbon Programme Officer (External Funding)
  • £38,553 – £43,570 per annum
  • 3 Year Fixed-Term Contract

This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver one of the biggest challenges of our time. As part of declaring a Climate Emergency, Walsall Council are looking for an experienced and successful officer to support the Council to achieve its net zero ambitions. If successful you will work as part of a supportive External Funding Team and with colleagues across the Council, owning responsibility for: pipeline development, planning and drafting high quality bids, often in partnership, that secure the resources to drive forward their carbon neutral priorities. With a sound understanding of the low carbon field, you will have innovative ideas and previous experience of securing significant levels of funding for ambitious but realistic carbon-reduction plans. This role is for someone who has a clear understanding of carbon emission measurement and reporting, with experience of planning and securing income for energy efficiency and public sector decarbonisation projects. Excellent communication skills are essential, including writing and presenting complex data and information for diverse audiences. You will have proven ability of managing competing demands, outcomes and deadlines with multiple stakeholders/partners.
