National Award for Alumet Director

SWM Green Leader Dean Walton, Director of Alumet received further recognition when representing the Midlands at the national Director of the Year Awards.

After receiving the West Midlands Environmental Director of the Year accolade earlier this year, Dean has now been named UK Director of the Year for Leadership in Corporate Responsibility. Former high profile politician and accomplished broadcaster, Michael Portillo presented the award at a glittering Institute of Directors ceremony at the Lancaster London hotel.

The award recognised Walton as “A director who has demonstrated that, through his direct actions and leadership, his business has made a positive impact on the local community, wider society and the environment.”

Alumet are one of the UK’s premier building facade and renewable energy contractors. As the director responsible for business development and sustainability, Dean was last year named as SWM ‘Green Leader’ and has helped the Southam based company become one of the nation’s leaders in green construction. Twice winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, through their CSR policies Alumet has become the first SME in the region to become a member of Business in the Community.

Walton, who has worked at Alumet for 19 years was overjoyed at receiving the national award “I am extremely proud to be named as Director of the Year, it is a great honour and a testament to our fantastic team at Alumet, it was particularly pleasing to be able to take my daughter Jade (19) with me to the ceremony in London.”

Alumet are this year celebrating their 20th anniversary and will be showcasing their new retrofit facade at their headquarters on 6th November.
