New polling shows public back powerful city region mayors

In May 2017 some of England’s biggest city regions will introduce new directly elected mayors. In the run-up to the elections, Centre for Cities is running a year-long programme exploring what voters think the top priorities for the new mayors should be. They have published new polling looking at what people in Greater Manchester, Sheffield City Region, Liverpool City Region, the North East and the West Midlands expect from their mayor, and the priorities they should have for those cities: Centre for Cities Polling-Mayors-Priorities-For-City-First-Preference
