
The Senior Reserves Officer will plan and lead an annual programme of practical work days with our regular volunteer groups; ensure reserve management and development plans are up-to-date, are being delivered and monitored; support Friends and volunteer groups, building positive relationships with individuals and working with colleagues to provide training and development opportunities; secure funded projects and deliver site enhancement works; and ensure appropriate systems are in place for all aspects of reserve management. They are looking for someone with experience of managing nature reserves who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about urban ecology and communities. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent technical and inter-personal skills. You will be well-organised and have the confidence to work independently and on your own initiative. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 year’s relevant experience demonstrating technical and practical competencies. You will be able to demonstrate a positive attitude to partnership working, and in working effectively to deadlines. It is essential that you have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental science, or demonstrable relevant experience in the sector.
