Nottingham City Council: Fuel Poverty Project Officer

Nottingham City council is seeking a candidate suitable for the role of a Fuel Poverty Project Officer. The Fuel Poverty Project Officer will join the Midlands Net Zero Hub and will support the delivery of the Net Zero agenda across the Midlands Region, reporting directly to the Principal Fuel Poverty Project Officer. This role will support the development and implementation of a fuel poverty programme that takes a fabric first approach to energy efficiency alongside the installation of low-carbon heating, where appropriate.

The post holder will be required to support the engagement with local authorities and the relevant private sector supply chains across the Midlands, to identify how well the Local Authorities, and their private sector counterparts, across the Midlands are set up to deliver large-scale retrofit programmes. Support a robust Midlands wide pipeline of fundable projects / programmes of works and the appropriate procurement and delivery mechanisms that are in place. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with stakeholders who have experience and knowledge in this sector and will need to collate success and lessons learned from previous schemes, which will help ensure future funding is delivered effectively.
You will be expected to:
  • Collate lessons learnt from existing Local Authority led schemes that support low income households
  • Support the co-ordination of regional Local Authority Delivery
  • Support the development of a pipeline of prospective projects that could be supported by an appropriate funding mechanism
  • Support the implementation of a procurement strategy to procure PAS 2035/Trustmark supplier(s) to assist project delivery
  • Provide project support to the management of demonstration projects assisting with collating Key Performance Indicators to report to the Principal Fuel Poverty Project Officer
