Research and Innovation: call in Greater Birmingham and Solihull

This call is looking to support research and innovation within Greater Birmingham and Solihull, specifically;

  • Enhancing research and innovation infrastructure and capacities to develop research and innovation excellence, and promoting centres of competence, in particular those of European interest
  • Promoting business investment in research and innovation

The deadline application is: 26 January 2018 with up to £3 million of funding is available through this call. A minimum value of £500,000 of funding can be applied for. Low carbon projects are eligible for priority 1 funding subject to their fit with innovation, in particular the market driven priorities of next generation transport, smart energy storage and systems and sustainable construction identified by the recent WM Science and Innovation Audit. There is no December call in GBSLEP for Priority 4 (low carbon) as most of the money has now been, or could be, allocated against this priority, but priority 1 still provides prospective applicants with an opportunity to develop low carbon, innovative projects.’ To apply for funding under this call you will need to complete and send the Outline Application form to the email address provided in the call document.
