Best practice club RETA – Renewable Energy Technology Alliance – has recently appointed a new Chairman.
Jim Allen has taken up the role, with Chris Hawker appointed as Vice Chair. Jim and Chris bring with them years of experience, a wealth of knowledge and a great deal of energy; key attributes required to take RETA forward to fulfil its potential.
Jim has many years of experience working in senior leadership positions for Severn Trent Water Ltd, E.ON Energy Services and Central Networks in which he held front line operational and strategic business development roles. He is currently the Managing Director of Green Energy Networks Ltd, which is a West Midlands based company providing expertise and services enabling the delivery of large scale renewable energy generation and the deployment of smart grid technologies.
Graham Simpson, Business Sector Growth Manager at Coventry City Council commented “We are delighted with Jim’s appointment. The RETA Steering Group will continue its focus on growing its membership, extending services, addressing skills and technology issues, and establishing a reputation for its member companies. Each is set to benefit from unrivalled opportunities for developing and growing the business in the exciting new low carbon sector across Coventry, Warwickshire and the Midlands.”
RETA’s efforts were recently recognised at the Midlands Business Awards when the team were presented with a highly commended certificate in the Business Club of the Year category.
