Senior Education Officer – Job Opportunity

Do you have what it takes to create nature friendly schools across Birmingham and the Black Country? Can you inspire the next generation of school children to connect with nature? The Wildlife Trust is looking for an experienced educator to lead the Trust’s schools programme, engaging teachers and pupils to participate in our activities and develop their own outdoor learning provision.

  • Coordinate and lead delivery of the DEFRA funded Nature Friendly Schools programme across up to 30 primary schools in Birmingham and the Black Country, including recruiting schools, assessing their capacity for delivering outdoor learning and co-designing interventions around: staff training; outdoor learning resources; leading activities; wildling school grounds and off-site visits.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to grow and deliver our environmental education services to schools and other audiences.
  • Support all staff in their delivery of schools’ work, ensuring that colleagues are equipped with the resources and training to deliver these to a consistently high standard.
  • Facilitate the development and training of education volunteers and freelancers to add to the Trust’s capacity to deliver outdoor learning services.
