Candidate Specification
- Degree in a relevant environmental subject (minimum of 2.1 classification), with further, post-graduate, qualifications desirable
- Chartered Environmentalist, or nearing chartership, and a Full Member of a relevant professional institution such as CIWEM or IEMA
- Relevant professional experience in the UK environmental consultancy market, with a strong external-facing, client-orientated approach
- Strong knowledge of the planning system and EU and UK legislation of relevance to environmental planning and environmental management
- Experience undertaking Environmental Impact Assessment, authoring Environmental Statement chapters. Experience in Sustainability Appraisal, Carbon Assessment and Natural Capital/Ecosystem Services is advantageous
- Relevant experience connected with major infrastructure schemes
- Experience in developing scope of work for environmental studies, contributing to bids and business development
- Ability to work independently, take the initiative, make robust, defensible decisions and work to tight deadlines to meet client needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including writing and presenting
- Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork in the UK and internationally
