Sheriffhales Community Energy are raising finance to complete the buy-out of an existing solar array in Shropshire and bring it and the energy supplied by it into community ownership.
The organisation is a fantastic example of a community organisation taking action against the climate crisis by supporting the continued generation of clean solar energy, and cutting carbon emissions. The solar array also provides a community benefit fund for the village of Sheriffhales. The fund is expected to generate around £1,000,000 over its lifetime to fund local community initiatives, with £150,000 already allocated to local causes.
